   Queen Elizabeth Hospital - Clinical Services building 2022 - 2024

$314 million TQEH CSB Redevelopment, will deliver a larger emergency department, a new intensive care unit, operating theatres and rehabilitation facilities. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-2024.

MCS’s role is pivotal in providing state-of-the-art facilities, spanning 27,000 square metres, co-designed by staff and consumers, the 5 levels will allow for the transition of many services from the existing tower building, which was built in the 1950s.

Austco Nurse Call system covers the emergency department with 46 treatment bays, 12 operating theatres and day surgery suite, a 14-bed intensive care unit, 52-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility and medical imaging and pathology spaces.

The Australian Bragg Centre 2023

 

MCS is proud to be involved with such a great South Australian project.

The Australian Bragg Centre is a purpose built biomedical development set to be the home to leading cancer research institutes as well as being the first clinically dedicated proton beam precision therapy centre in the Southern Hemisphere.

 

Bringing the most advanced cancer treatment and research right here to South Australia. Our North Terrace Health and Education precinct allows South Australians to collaborate, innovate and inspire.

MCS installed an Austco IP Nurse Call System, to assist in providing better care through technology.

Repatriation General Hospital 2021 - 2024

Reactivating the Repat Project SA Health have engaged MCS to install Austco IP Nurse Call Systems throughout the site to be the hub of clinical communications. A high level interface with the Tecom security system provides staff with add protection for real time alerts across site and wards for a rapid response.

Works to create the GEM & Care Wards is scheduled to commence in October 2023 with MCS installing the latest version of Austco IP Connect and Tacera Software.

 

Wards 1 & 2 and the Rehabilitation Building were fully renovated in 2022, while preserving the heritage listed Sun-Rooms where our "Diggers" have been remembered. The 18 bed Neuro-Behavioural unit provides for people whose behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia mean their needs can’t be met in mainstream residential care.

The site now has state of the art nurse call systems throughout. A high level interface with the security systems makes the MCS system the messaging hub for the entire site. 

The Modbury Hospital

Redevelopment Project 2019 – 2021

 

Modbury Hospital underwent a $98 million redevelopment during 2019 – 2021.

The major upgrade of Modbury Hospital included a state-of-the-art Austco IP Nurse Call system installed by Medical Communications Systems and will provide facilities that meet the needs of patients by providing world-class infrastructure for staff and patient care. Works included the expansion of the surgical floor to allow for more surgeries.

Eight additional beds created in an Extended Emergency Care Unit will help with increased demand. Works included co-locating the EECU with an upgraded 26 bed Short Stay General Medical Unit. A new purpose-built 20-bed Palliative Care Unit ensures patients are cared for in a suitable environment and relocating of Outpatients Department. The development of a four-bed High Dependency unit provides invaluable resources for emergencies.

The Lyell McEwen Hospital

ED Expansion Project 2020 – 2023

$58 Million Expansion and refurbishment of the Emergency Department commenced in 2020 to increase capacity and improve patient flow.

The Austco IP Nurse Call system is pivotal to providing safety and security for patience and staff. The works included an eight-bed Mental Health Short Stay unit which has customised Stainless Steel plates designed to suit the Austco IP System call points to ensure safety for all and durability to meet the toughest demands.

Medical Communications Systems involvement at the Lyell McEwen Hospital stems over a decade with the systematic replacement of legacy systems with the Austco IP system and ongoing 24/7 technical service support and maintenance.

The Flinders Medical Centre

Rehabilitation Centre 2017 – 2018

In 2017 the South Australian Government opened the new Rehabilitation Health Facilities at Flinders Medical Centre

Medical Communications systems installed an Austco IP system throughout the 5-level facility. The purpose-built wards include a 55-bed rehabilitation centre, a 15-bed palliative-care unit and a rooftop-garden.

MCS and the Austco systems have been providing Nurse Call services to FMC for over 20 years.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital

MCS have supplied and installed Austco IP Nurse Call systems over all of the major development projects and provided service and maintenance support for over 10 years

Older Persons Mental Health Ward Project – MCS also supplied and installed the Bosch Security Escort system with a high-level interface into the Nurse call System for staff safety & security.

Rehabilitation Building Project – A major project where MCS delivered the Nurse Call System to assist in providing better care.

A 303 bed development included an acute care teaching facility that provides inpatient, outpatient, emergency and mental health services to a population of more than 250,000 people living primarily in Adelaide’s western suburbs.

The Women's & Children's Hospital

MCS have supplied and installed Austco IP Nurse Call systems at the WCH’s to many wards over many years with major development projects including the 3 level Children’s Cancer Ward

The Emergency Ward included urgent works for the fit out of Covid Pods to look after our precious young ones.

In 2020 - 2021 MCS upgraded legacy systems in the following wards, Kate Hill Ward, Newlands Ward & Medical Short Stay Ward to provide modern and reliable systems.

MCS - Messenger

 Our own developed Android App is a notification system and the foundation of our Messaging platform which communicates over Wi-Fi to our Server Based Software providing the distribution of alerts to the correct staff in real time across 7 Train configurations.

Mobile phones alert staff with customised tones and colour coded text messages in real time of service requests from guests. As well as alarms generated from Smoke Detection systems, plant alarms and security alarms to provide staff the ability of a quick response to critical events achieved by a high level interface to a PLC
